[Lake Ashi]

Lake Ashi (also referred to Ashinoko lake) is the largest lake in the southwest area of Kanagawa Prefecture. There are many tourist attractions and resort facilities near lake Ashi. And it is also known for its view of Mt. Fuji.

Furthermore, every year, during Japanese new year (Shougatsu, especially first 3 days), 2nd and 3rd of January, Tokyo-Hakone collegiate ekiden relay race (Hakone Ekiden) was held here. It is a well-known spot for the forward and return ways. Many tourists from outboard and inboard are gathering together during this time.
