[Japanese Sword Mountings]
This Japanese sword mounting with golden damascening was made around late Edo period.
During that time, artisans and the craftsman who made the ornament for the mounting were called Koshimotobori in Japnanese.
The material is form well forged steel. When snap it, it will have high pitch sound. In the Edo period, even people without a chance to draw a sword, they will still use their favorite ornament for the mountings.
