As if to announce the start of summer in Awa,Naruto’s Awa Odori (dance festival) is held, and is the grandest festival of its kind in the prefecture. For a series of days during this period, in addition to Awa dance being showcased at the theater, anyone is free to participate and contribute to this lively form of communication, as the town is overtaken in dancers.
